At some point, I'm going to put together a long range shooter.  Anyone have any experience with the Weaver Classic V-Series 6x24x42?  Good, bad, mediocre?  It's listing on MidwayUSA for $360.

ETA:  If I wait and go up into the $600 range, what would be best?  I like the looks of the Burris Signature Select, Nikon Monarch, and Countersniper Crusader.

I too am fond of the Nikon brand.  Once quality glass is selected, the reticle is the next most important feature.  For distance shooting, I definately want mil-dots.  I have not used them for range estimation, but I do use them for hold-over.  Today I was shooting to 500yds with the Nikon 6-18 offered by Midway.  My shooting partner had a nice Monarch, but without the mil-dots.  I think after today he is sold on the dots.  We were shooting 6x6 steel plates.  My rifle is a M&P15 OR model.  I shot perfect on the plates at 400yds using 4.5 dots at 18 power and nearly perfect at 500 using 4.5 dots at 12 power.  No problem seeing and no problem aiming once I found the correct hold-over.

Given the choices you posted I would also go with the Monarch.  I have a 2.5-10x42 on a Remington 700 LTR and I really like the scope.

Out of the brands you listed, I only have experience with the Monarch (6.5-20x) so I can only comment on that one.  Great glass and quality build.   I chose the BDC reticle.  The reticle seems interesting with its circles at a distance but I havent had much of a chance to try it past 200 yards so I can not comment on how well it actually works.  The mil-dot is always a good choice so you may want to go with that one.

If I can make a suggestion that is not on your list; take a look at the Bushnell Elite (3200 and 4200) series.  Japanese made (instead of Phillipines as with the Monarch) and most people hold them in high regard.  The construction of my 4200 is ahead of my monarch and the glass is better as well imo.  Dont overlook them just due to the Bushnell name - they are on a different level than the average Bushnell
