I have a Nikon 3-9x40 buckmaster scope for my 6.8 flat top 20" Ko-tonics and I was

wondering who makes a good quality inexpensive one piece mount, or should i just

use standard leupold mounts? do i need a forward set mount with standard A2 stock

for proper eye relief?  Also what height do i need?

You will need a ring or mount to fit your rail. Height wise my rings are 1 1/2. works well.

How much forward offset you'll need depends on where the scope will need to be for your usual shooting style.  Best bet is to have someone hold the scope up (or mount it in a single ring) to get the right distance figured out, then note where the eyepiece is relative to the charging handle as a reference.  This'll let you know if rings will work, or if you need an offset mount.

For height, iron sights are at 1.4" centerline, but you may need a bit more height if you want to clear a BUIS.  This'll depend on the BUIS and the scope eyepiece.  If you measure the eyepiece diamter, divide it by 2, and add that to the BUIS height, that's the mount centerline height you'd need to clear the BUIS.

The best under-$100 one-piece mount is the Armalite, but it's a bit low, at 1.25" centerline.
