Ordered a 16" middy kit yesterday. It's got a flattop upper and standard A2 front sight. My question is will the front sight obscure my vision thru the scope with a regular mount or do I need to mount it higher? |

The consensus is that at 3x or higher, the standard front sight base (FSB) will not obsure your field of view. Below 3x, the FSB may show up as a tiny object in the 6 'o clock position when viewing through your scope. Personally, my FSB is hardly visible at all when my scope is on 1.8x. |

The center height I recommend for an AR is 1.45”. What type of optic are you looking to get? Mike @ CSGW www.csgunworks.com [email protected] Here’s some testimonials about CS GunWorks What do YOU have to say about CS GunWorks What Do You Think Of Cs Gunworks? FEEDBACK about CSGUNWORKS.com |
| I have a 6-24x and a 3-12x. The 3-12x is on a 22-250. Originally I was going to switch out the scopes, but now that I've ordered the 16" middy I thought I might just put the 6-24x on it. Maybe too much scope? Since my post I've ordered a rear sight. I will be shooting some pdogs and coyotes with it til I build another one for my other lower. |

You have a bull barrel 16” upper? A 6-24x scope sounds like a lot of scope for a 16” but you are the one shooting it.
