I have a Nikon Prostaff 2-7x32 on my rifle right now but at the distances I am shooting within 50 yards I dont need anything that size on the top of my rifle. What would be a good 1-3x, 1-4x or 1-6x scope for my 6.8? Used mainly for hog and deer hunting. I saw a nice Weaver 1-3x for $160 or so dollars. I am trying to stay around $200 and would like to keep my current 1" M223 mount so it is a little tougher. Let me know what you all think, thanks.

If you like the Nikon prostaff, you may like the Nikon Monarch 3 1-4.  I think its the same as the 1-4 M223 but a little cheaper and you can't get the stupid 2 MOA black dot in the center.

About $280 from most places.  Decently bright image and more than enough resolution for 50 yards, good field of view, light weight, but only 1".

But if it's only 50 yards Irons are a good option - depending on sight radius and your eyes.

A Nikon P-223 fixed 3  power scope is a great option.  New to your door for $129 of of the big auction site.  But, for what you've described, irons would be hard to beat.  God Bless
