Hey everyone, My first time posting anything and only been on the site for about a week, so Hi!  I have started to shoot alot of 3 gun competitions lately.  My issue is that I am at an equipment disadvantage with my rifle/shotgun currently and am just starting to realize what i like.  My next purchase for the rifle is going to be some

sort of optic.  It has some adco red dot on it now.  i have found myself not being able to see the longer shots in the competition.  I plan on shooting in the tactical division.  Does anyone have a good suggestion as far as optics go.  I guess im looking for a scope, nothing more than a 4 power.  Preferably somehting that is 1-4x, my

only concern is that when we shoot close how much slower im going to be.  Are there any good scopes with large field of visions.  I am leaning towards the trijicon scope right now.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Also, anyone know where they make a mag tube extension for a benelli m4?

You could get an Aimpoint M3 with the magnifier mounted in front of it on a flip-to-side mount.  I've looked into it briefly, and while expensive, I think it is probably cheaper than a Trijicon ACOG.  However, don't quote me on that.

Come over to the 3-gun forum to get more input. In Tactical Scope division, most of us like low-power variables. I run a Meopta 1-4x but, in a LaRue mount, it is a $1000 optic. Depending on your budget, you can find good solutions in the $250 price range... I really like my backup scope, a Weaver V3 1-3x and they run under $200. For me a scope on true 1x is as fast as a red dot up close, but you may also be able to run a 1.1x or 1.5x scope just as fast, depending on your eyesight.

Depending on the rules you shoot under, you may soon be able to shoot your red dot optic in Tac Iron division... this is a change we are seeing implemented more and more.

Also post this question in the optics tech board of this forum.  You should get a bunch of input there.

Try the DMS-1 from Millett. It's a 1-4 optic that is illuminated. Great optic for the money. I tend to like Donut-Dot optics. Eotech, ACOG Horseshoe reticle, Meprolight Bullseye. The Millett fits right in and it's a lot of scope for the money. Of course you can go the the 3-gun forum and upgrade to the Trijicon TR-24.
