My wife bought me one of the nikon p223 3x32 scopes last Christmas and I still haven't mounted it up yet. She also ordered the nikon rings and they would work but I want something I can remove without having to take my rear sight off. I don't think I am able to run any one piece mounts because this scope is extremely short. So I'm looking for some standard style rings, like the burris extreme. Do I need 1" high or 1.25" high?
I'm putting this on my beater m&p sport and don't want to spend a fortune on rings. |

Found what I was looking for
Millet rings $30, I don't need QD I just want to be able to remove it without having to slide it off like the nikon mounts. |

I haven't gotten them yet but mocking the scope up confirms eye relief shouldn't be an issue even with the stock out 3 clicks.
I have a set of the P series rings, which work fine but you cannot remove them without sliding them off the back of the receiver. I want to be able to remove this scope in the highly unlikely event I would ever really need BUIS. |
