Just got my brand new AR15. I don't have a gun cage or anything, so I use the cardboard box that came with the gun to store. To my dismay, I found a few small scratches on the forward assistant as it's the most protruded part and was touching the cardboard. It seems the black paint has come off and showing the shining inside. What the hell can I do? I think I am in tears. |
Birchwood Caset Aluma Black WILL fix your problem...Gun Blue wont work on aluminum.. |
Are the scratches on the upper receiver itself, or the foward assist? If they are on the receiver, you will need the Aluma Black. www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/Store/ProductDetail.aspx?new=y&pp=4942&p=4941&s=11051#11051 |

| Shoot the damn thing and dont worry about scratches.Function and reliability come first so start running some rounds through it and worry less about cosmetics. If your gonna treat it with kid gloves put it in the safe or on the wall and keep it in mint unfired condition and buy another AR for a tool to shoot.Beware the well used AR the owner probably knows how to use it and use it well.Wear and tare means you know and use your weapon. |
Snap out of it!!!

Its almost like Colt function checked that part to make sure the forward assist worked. I asked you earlier on another post how much you planned to shoot this weapon. From your cotinuing lack of answers, and your tears over normal markings, I'm guessing you really don't have any plans to do much with this carbine, so you might as well put it back in the box under your bed and stop playing with it. Stop crying and go shoot it. If nothing else, stop please posting about being in tears and leave that tripe for the general discussion section. |
C'mon, people, no one seriously whines about the durability of their AR's and wear marks. I mean, hell, if it was a huge freakin' scratch across, say, the side of the magwell, like BOTH my AR's have, then maybe I could understand in some cases..... but come on.
