Don't have the manual for my TA01, waiting for one from Trijicon.  How do you seat the reticle.  I usually just bump it a few times on the top but it doesn't always settle down until after a few shots.

ETA:  I'm talking about after you make adjustments when zeroing in.  Say I'm shooting 1" high at 100 so I'll go 3 clicks down but point of impact doesn't change until either the scope is tapped or several shots are fired.  As I understand it this is due to the unique system Trijicon uses which involves a reticle engraved into a prism and the whole prism has to move when making adjustments instead of just a wire reticle.

I just slap the scope a few times and fire a couple shots, worked for me when I was zeroing mine. It did need a few harder knocks than most other scopes I have zeroed though.

Yeah, what's up with this?  There's nothing in the manual about "seating the reticle".

Im assuming he is talking about when he is trying to zero the scope and he is making adjustments. I was always shown that you needed to tap or hit the scope a few times after making an adjustment so that the reticle would actually move into its new position. My ACOG you had to hit a little harder than some other scopes in order for it to move to its new position, sometimes firing a few shots is necessary. If that is not what he is talking about I have no idea.

This was covered in the Trijicon new equipment training guide for military units.

FWIW, I click 1 click past what I need and then back it back then give a couple of taps to seat.  Example........you need 3 clicks so go 4 clicks and back it back to 3 then tap the ring.

I also do not step on cracks as it will break my mothers back and I do not walk under ladders.

Thanks guys that's what I was looking for.  I pretty much do the same thing, just slap it with my palm a few times after doing the extra click and back up thing.  Usually the reticle settles in after that and a few shots.

I hit mine with the handle of a screw driver on the side and the top a couple of times after each adjustment. It's just what u have to do.

From the RCO Operators manual;

Tap the adjuster after each adjustment to ensure the internal mechanism is fully seated.

I use my Leatherman Wave.
