Have a friend that may get me a hook up on a new Colt.  I currently have a S&W M&P15A and love it.  It is fairly stock with only a small rail mount on the front (under the front sight) for a flashlight/laser.  I am not familair w/ Colt models, but was thinking about something with a quad rail on the front and minus the fixed front sight.  Do they have any factory models like that or do you have to do that with an after market set up?

The Colt 6940 is what you're looking for.

Thanks, sure looks like what I want.  It would make a nice addition to the family. Truth is my wife (who was not really into shooting) loves my AR so much she wants one of her own.  I figure I should mix the up a little.

If you go with the 6940, make sure your buddy's hook up isn't asking for more than around $1375 or so for it. A couple months ago they went for $2000+ but they're back down now.

Great choice. BTW...I got nothing against Larue products, I just keep giving my money to noveske and kac so I have no money for one yet

He apparently has a hook up to get wholesale pricing.  He quoted a MT6400 for just over $1,000.  I knowingly over paid for my M&P 15A at $1,400 about 6 months ago but wanted to be sure I got my hands on one.  I figured a few hundred dollars was worth having one in the safe when SHTF.
