I have searched the forums and know I read it somewhere but can not find it. With several ACOG available which one would be best for a Carry handle mount with a 16" barrel? Also how much if any is the accuracy affected by mounting on a carry handle? I will be using the rifle mainly for target shooting at a range. Ranges will vary from 25 yards out to 300+ yards. Keep in mind my Ar that I have ordered is coming with a fixed carry handle. I like the TA01 but would really like the TA31F or TA31RCO Which ACOG should I buy? |
| There is a thread tacked with all the BDC info at the front of this forum. i may be mistaken but I think most of the ACOGs set up for a 14.5" or 16" barrel. I also believe all the ones set up for a 14.5" are designed for a flatop mount.m Trjicons web site has the specs on each. |

Thanks. I finally found the thread your talking about. Trjicons web site keeps refering to a 20" barrel for most which I thought was strange. I was led to believe that most m16 were in a 16" barrel. The BDC thread answered all of my questions. Sorry for making a new topic about this. |
| I would look to ditch the carry handle and go flattop for versatility. If you must keep the carry handle, then the compact ACOGs are the way to go. The full size ACOGs are too high for me in this application. The fixed carry handle uppers I own are shot either with irons or an Aimpoint on a gooseneck mount. |
