| My department did its quarterly qualifications yesterday and one of the department issued patrol rifles,a older(2006) Bushmaster patrolmans carbine, would drop the hammer upon the pull of the trigger,and then again on trigger reset. Pull the trigger,bang...let off the trigger,bang again. This is a semi auto only rifle. My initial thought was to replace the entire FCG but before I do I wanted to ask and see if anyone here knew exactly what was happening and possibly save me swapping out a lot of parts I don't need to. Worn disconnector or disconnector spring. Since you are LE and it is an LE rifle, call Bushmaster. I would suspect that they will either service it for free, or sent the parts to your armorer to have them swapped out. Take the gun out of service until it is fixed.
