Currently looking at getting back into DCM Service Rifle competition- which AR setup is currently "the heat"?

Thanks!

I can't get enough of my RRA NM A2. It's accurate as hell and the trigger is great. It's heavy, but that's good, IMO. I also added lead to the buttstock compartment and a little bit of lead to the underside of the handguard. Like I said, heavy, but the balance is PERFECT.

The RRA gets my vote, but also check out White Oak Armament. I got my RRA through my club for $865 two years ago.

I went the other way with a WOA upper with pinned rear sight ($750) and a Sabre lower with WOA/RRA trigger ($280) for a total of $1030. Put a pound and a half of lead in the buttstock for balance. I don't know about the RRA but the WOA has a windage adjustable front sight. Shoots way better than it's owner!!!!

RRA and White Oak are awesome choices. Many shooters around here run the White Oak. Personally I have a RRA NM set up and it rocks. I also run a RRA NM A2 lower with an upper I built with a Kreiger NM barrel with a windage adjustable front sight.
Both have the lead butstock weight and lead in the handguards. The more weight the better IMHO.
They way things are right now you might have a much easier time getting the Kreiger or White Oak barrel than even atempting to get a RRA. Beleive me I am not bashing RRA it is just I bet they are many months out before they could fill your order. MTC

RRA is a good place to start. You can upgrade later when you find out what parts are important to you.

I would put more emphasis on a good spotting scope. Kowa TSN-821 is the gold standard. That's where you want to spend right off the bat. Buy once and it will last you a lifetime. If you can't see mirage effectively to read wind and can't see where you are hitting, you are never going to be competitive.

If you want a really good rifle then go for the CLE built ones. It's an excellent rifle.
1/7.7 twist stainless steel kreiger barrel preban or post ban. It's a little bit expensive at
about $1,700.00 now if I'm not mistaken. No need for lead weights. It is heavy enough.
The Kowa 821 scope is good for the money. No need to try an RRA when you can have the real McCoy.
