How do you shim and insure proper alignment of a scope in rings? Here's the problem I'm dealing with: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=12&t=178968 My front ring is sitting about 0.02" lower than my rear ring. Thanks, Corey |

Are you trying to use two diffent types of rings one on a rise? Why? You need something made of metal as you can't have moisture causing any issues. A piece of aluminum foil is 1/1000 of an inch thick so two pieces would work. Could these work? I'm trying to put a scope on an RASII equiped carbine. I have two of the same size Leupold QR rings (low), and would put one on the RASII bridge and another on a YHM 1/2" riser. I think instead of using shims in the rings, I think I'll just file down the top of the YHM riser until it matches the RASII on the rifle that it will ultimately be mounted. (Or at least that was the bright idea I got this afternoon when I was playing with it.) Thanks. |
