If this is in the wrong place, I apologize.
I am looking to ship an AR in a hard case, but I cannot find a box big enough to fit it. I have checked UPS, USPS, Staples, Kmart, etc. I was wondering either A) id anyone had a better source for boxes for shipping rifles, or B) if it is acceptable (and advisable) to ship (UPS––insured) in the hard case alone, secured with a lock. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks. |

UPS should allow it, but I would not want a recognizable gun case going through UPS. I have seen lots of things shipped in plastic cases/boxes with just a label stuck on them. I have even seen them deliver tires with no outer packaging whatsoever. Just a label.
Find a large box (or 2), cut it open so it's flat, and then wrap your gun case with it to "build" your own box. Use plenty of tape to close up the seams and edges, and then ship it that way. |

Just stop by a gun store and ask if they have a box. I am shipping a couple of rifles to someone, and did exactly that. A local store just gave me a nice box, it was unmarked, and full of packing paper!
Some package stores will have something suitable. Not a FedEx store, but those postal do-all stores. I found one that had a couple that were suitable, but they were over $20 per box. |

I used one of these a real nice box, a few months ago they were under $20 now stupid expensive.....
http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=252091 I would recomend FedEx....but you need a nearby hub to take it to... |
