Okay, first of all, it helps to read the directions on the bottle - 1st mistake.

I went shooting my AR the other day and put several rounds through it. Got home to clean it and decided to be extra vigilant with cleaning the bore as it had been over a few trips the range since it had a good scrubb. So...I passed a few patches of the Shooters Choice through the bore and decided to leave it overnight. Well, lo and behold, I read the bottles direction in the morning and it states, "do not leave in the bore overnight."

It is a BM chrome-lines barrel and I am a bit concerned about potential damage. Is this something that I should be concerned about? I have not done this before and I promptly ran a few patches of CLP and a bore brush through the next morning. Bore looks okay I am just a bit paranoid.

Thanks for the input.

Dont know for sure, but I imagine you are probably ok. In the future, stick with CLP and CLP only.

Which Shooter's Choice are you using?  MC7 is fine to leave in SS bore indefinately.  Chrome-moly is probably good for over a week.

I woudn't worry about once overnight.

If you used Copper Remover you probably are ok but don' t make a habit of it.

If you are referring to the standard Shooters Choice in the brown glass bottle, then do not worry at all.  Leave it in as long as you like,
you have a chrome-lined AR barrel.  Shooters Choice solvent will have no damaging effects.  I regularly soak my bolt action rifle bores by plugging at the chamber, filling the barrel up to the top, and then duct-taping at the muzzle.  I leave it for days at a time.  No damage, not even on the carbon steel bores.

If it was Shooters Choice Copper Remover in the tall plastic bottle, then you probably did not do any damage, but I certainly would not make the same mistake twice.
