| Are any of the shorter FHs as good as the longer Phantoms? My A1 & 2s have been killing me recently in low light, but I dont like having that long Phantom sticking off the end of my gun |
Forest has them on his weights table... MD AR-15 component weights excel file A2: 2.3 ounces Phantom 5C2: 2.1 ounces Phantom or Vortex: 3.2 ounces That last entry worries me because I know that phantoms are lighter than vortexes just from holding them in my hand... I'll try to remember to weigh them tonight when I get home, but I am supposed to be racing off for the holiday weekend. I'll post here again so subscribe to the thread and you will be notified... |
Shooting any of the lengths at night with A1 or A2 and M193 or M855 makes a nice fireball. |
the other nite we shot m193 out of a rra w/a2 vs. an armalite w/phantom. the phantom is clearly the winner |
Many years back we did a night shoot for just this reason. From 16 & 20" Brls with A2 flash supressor the muzzle flash was only about the size of a tennis ball. I did not find it to be distracting or to diminish my night vision at all. From various muzzle brakes and target crown Brls the muzzle flash was a huge basketball sized fireball. |
