I have used anti seize for years for spark plugs in aluminum heads. Just about every compound I have seen from loctite and permatex has some amount of graphite in it (even the copper based). I put a little of my kg-11 moly grease I use on receiver and barrel nut threads on mine. |

| I fell victim to this today... I was looking for a link to an active "kit" but didn't find one. For now I'm just sourcing another spring. Citizen's Armory is out so I'll just use a spring from a Bic lighter until I can get the rear replacement. I also noticed that Citizen's Armory has PMAGs 30rd for $11.55 each with free shipping on orders over $100. |

| Years of working with HVAC equipment makes me leary of this modification- if the socket head rusts out it will be a bitch to to drill a hardened piece of steel out of an aluminum receiver - I would rather buy a dozen spare detents and springs than mess up a lower - |

| This is how my seekins came today. I first got the thing installed without trimming the 5-6 coils off of the spring and man was it a PITA. I read the instructions and took out the allen set screw, clipped the spring, and it went in super easy and now I can not worry about it coming out in the future. The Seekins places the pin hole in the hand guard area and not the receiver extension like most forged lowers do though. |

How does the receiver end plate sit flush with that screw head protruding into that space? |

Also, Aero made/makes lowers for a lot of other companies, Spikes included. |

My mind wasn't thinking past the application I was using it for. I must still be in a fog from yesterday's gallbladder removal.

When I used to fly R/C planes I used 4-40 set screws. The hobby shop carried them in packs of 6. This was 10 years ago and I'm guessing they are still sold there. |

McMaster-Carr has all kinds of stuff. Set screws Taps. I have no association with them, other than being a very happy customer for many years. They have stuff you need, and they ship fast. |

It's a $5 part at your local hardware store. But then you need a tap handle and the lube... ugh lifes hard. Seriously though that seekins lower is great, no bolt catch roll pin and it has tension set screws for the safety and upper to lower. They even offer a version with the standard mag well. |

Aero Precision lowers are also tapped for the detent screw. They're inexpensive, high quality, and they don't look like a steampunk AR that was melted in a microwave. |

I wish Amazon hadn't bought Small Parts Inc. a few years ago, that would have been the no-brainer place to find any sort of fastener like this. Now their catalog - which is online, and simply part of Amazon - is flooded with crap parts for lousy prices. |
