I'm looking for a basic, click on, click off flashlight, with no fancy strobe settings or anything of the sort, just on and off. Momentary when the button is partially pushed would be nice, but it is not a deal-breaker if it doesn't have it.
All the expensive flashlights that I can find are loaded to the gills with stupid strobe, low brightness, and other settings which only serve to annoy me, and all the simpler, cheaper ones I've been able to find can't seem to take the abuse I put my stuff through. Does anyone know of a simple, "featureless" flashlight that is of high quality that I could put on my gun? |

This is the model my friend has. Momentary and constant on. I highly recommend it! |

I have one of these, and love it, but OP specifically said no low mode. |

I have one of these, and love it, but OP specifically said no low mode. The Surefire G2x is a great light - it comes in many many different configurations. What you seek is the G2X TACTICAL here at Amazon. The tactical version has a clicky tailcap switch with on / off or a light press for momentary. No HIGH / LOW No STROBE. K.I.S.S. $50 320 Lumen. Love this light! |

Quoted: Streamlight makes great products for very reasonable prices. Not sure if they have featureless, but my good friend has one and it's very easy to use. I'll find out which model and get back to you on that. Streamlight Stingers are the light of choice for many cops. I have used them for years. I just upgraded mine by selling all of the halogens and replaced them with LED. The original chargers work for both, so if you have them laying around, you can save some money. They aren't pocket lights, which makes them harder to lose. |

Wow, back when I bought mine the tactical version only came with a momentary only tailcap. Good to know you can get click versions now! OP, I highly recommend the tactical G2X. |

You may, or may not go for this. It has a secondary switch for all the stuff you don't want. The primary switch is on/off and it always turns on in high mode (700 lumens). It's bright, durable and takes up very little room in my pocket.
Klarus XT1C LED Flashlight - CREE XP-L HI V3 - 700 Lumens - Uses 1x 16340 Note that you can charge the 16340 battery in the same charger you use for your 18650 batteries, assuming you already use those. |

Surefire g2 series! Those things take a beating and make you look stupid afterwards. I have 2. Batteries last quite a while in them as well (installed, ready to use). I like the beam profile as well. Very inexpensive, but quality gear, excellent value.
Have one on a Odin works key mod, and one in a gg&g picatinny mount. No issues from either mount (would buy again). Although the Odin holds it a bit closer to the rail than I'd like, but I think it's because my rail is of a smaller diameter. For less than $100 you can have a very good light setup on a long gun. Otherwise, I have a streamlight tlr3 on my g19. It works okayish mounted on a long gun. Only complaint is the CR2 batteries are expensive. My streamlight protac h2l is a very good light for $40 or so. EDC use, drops, grease/oil, water (not submerged, probably would survive a run through the dishwasher). An aside, I did manage to kill my tlr3 once. I think it was from having it on a 12ga pump action (500 rounds, if that). Streamlight took it, even with paint on it, and sent me a new one for free. Took about a week and a half, but they took care of me no problems. The new one is a year and a half old, and has probably 5k rounds of 9mm under its belt. If you get a surefire or streamlight product, that actually fits your needs, you won't be disappointed. |

G2X Tactical is the reigning champion of $$ to performance IMO. I have 3.
6PX is just the aluminum version of the G2X. Not a bad deal, especially if the light is gong to go next to something hot. Don't have any of these because of having 3 of the above P2X Fury is a sweet burner of a light. Same basic body as the 6PX, but has more lumens. I have 2 of these, one is on a rifle and I like it a lot. Brighter than the G2X and the beam is just about perfect for shooting with IMO. Outside of those, your options get pretty spendy real quick. I have grabbed my P2X's for $100 or less used. G2X are around $50 which is an awesome value. 6PX's are about 60-65 which isn't bad, but I am not sure they are worth the difference in price. I am a bit of a surefire whore as of late. Really like their lights. |

just placed an order for a 6px tactical for $59 shipped
heard lots of good things about it and the g2x tac. was going to get the g2 but this is gonna be mounted next to a silencer so i figured why not go for the aluminum model. hope its as good as my other surefires have been. |
| I'm very impressed with my Elzetta Bravo. It has the best beam I've seen and is my favorite light by far. https://www.elzetta.com/product/B132/ |
| I have several older 6Ps that I have updated with Malkoff 325 lumen heads. I did that off of advice on here stating they were close to bulletproof. If I was getting a new light from Surefire, it would probably be a G2X in that lumen range. To me, that's the "all-around" perfect light. Most of mine are mounted on Elzetta 6 o'clock mounts under the front sight base. With this mount, you can activate the light with the front sling swivel. I don't use tape switches and stuff that could snag on something in the woods. |
