I need input from you guys.
I have been using 2 point slings for some time now and want to give a single point sling a try. I have been looking at the following mounting options. Will these give me the ability to transition from strong to weak side? I am looking at mounting options that would replace the receiver end plate. Also, which one of these would you recommend: Daniel Defense http://www.operationparts.com/DANIEL_DEFENSE_AR_15_M4_QD_PUSH_BUTTON_MOUNT_p/dd-4062.htm Knights http://www.operationparts.com/KAC_KNIGHTS_M4_RECEIVER_SLING_MOUNT_p/22051.htm TangoDown http://www.operationparts.com/TANGODOWN_AR_15_M4_COLLAPSIBLE_STOCK_SLING_SWIVEL_p/pr-4.htm Troy (this one clamps over the castle nut?) http://www.operationparts.com/TROY_AR_15_M4_QD_PUSH_BUTTON_RECEIVER_SLING_MOUNT_p/pgrsa-bk.htm Troy http://www.operationparts.com/TROY_AR_15_M4_QD_PUSH_BUTTON_RECEIVER_SLING_MOUNT_p/m4sm-blk.htm Thanks for the help! |

It kind of depends on what sling you want to use, and what kind of hardware you want to use. On the end of the sling that is.
If you use QD swivels, and a tele-stock use the Tango Down PR4. You could also use the KAC or the DD or MI offerings. If you use QD swivels and a fixed stock, Tango Down PR-16. If you use a Gear Sector sling, they make their own lower receiver end plate. |

Thanks for the replies guys.
I should have mentioned the other stuff like Lancelot said. I have an single point Specter sling that I plan to use for now. I figured I could get another sling shortly if needed. I really wanted to use the QD swivels, but not absolutely necessary. All my rifles have the SOPMOD stock. I need some guidance since I have never tried using single points before. Am I total off base with these mounting methods? Are there better solutions? Thanks! |
