I really want a slick sided upper. But unfortunately there only seem to be a few options. The DPMS sportical is the best bet, but the thicker build adds weight instead of cutting it, and causes issues with some handguards, there is also no way to add a dust cover (which I do want)
The m&p 15 sport comes with a similiar upper, but also has a shell deflector (which I dont want) and once again can not attach a dust cover Then a few companies such as rainier make something that is sooo close, but still has a shell deflector And then there are 9mm receivers, which are pretty much perfect but have to have a gas tube port drilled and lack m4 feedramps Would anyone else be interested in an upper receiver without a forward assist or charging handle, but with a dust cover and m4 ramps? I would love to pick up on in A3 and another in A1/A2 Maybe if we get enough interest we could find someone to make a run of them, or everyone here will think this is stupid and flame me for it |

I'm not clear on whether you want a slickside with a carry handle or not. If you want a slickside flat top, drilling a gas hole in a 9MM upper receiver is the way to go. With right Dremel bit and a steady hand you can make your own feedramps. I bought a slickside upper receiver from Fulton Armory a few years ago. Currently Fulton doesn't show a slickside reciever for sale by itself, but they do show a complete slickside upper receiver. I'd give them a call. I found this during a google search.
