Local gunsmith was an oil company chemist in prior career. He sells a grease blend he calls gun blood. I bought one to try , i figure he know more about tribology than I care to. like every oil thread in cars, bikes guns, no one can point to me a failure caused by a deficient lubricant. Still like slip 2000ewl for oil on fancy guns and 5w40 synth on others. I tell my customers oil is like beer or religion. Use whichever one makes you feel the best. |

I only really care that lube 1) Stays lubey down to cold as hell. 2) Stays lubey, not thin as water, at high temps of an AR dumping a few mags. I have found 0W50 to be pretty good at this. 75W90 gets too thick below 0F. Anything under 50W gets thinner than I like hot. |

TriFlow. Used some of it back in the 80's. You could really fill the difference in the double action trigger pull on my Speed Six stainless with it vs. regular oil. I put some on my M1A bolt just once. On the second shot the brass failed to eject. I pulled the oprod back, looked, the empthy was still chambered. I let the op rod go, pulled it back again and the empty was still there. Dropped the mag, put the safety ON and took a better look. The extractor, detent and spring were gone. The spring and detent were on the shooting mat off to my side. The extractor was two or three feet off to my right in the dirt. I wiped everything off, put a couple drops of LSA back on the bolt and continued my range session. That happened in 1981/82. Never happened before or after and the rifle has several thousand rounds through it these days. I bought some more of it the other day. Haven't gotten around to trying it on the M&P pistols yet. |

If a 147 grn 9mm at 1000 FPS is the hammer of Thor then a 165 grn. 40 at 1200 fps must a lightening bolt from Zeus!
| I tested Apex lube for a year before they went to market. Best stuff I've used. CLICK HERE. Here is a 11 minute nerd video about it CLICK HERE. People will always say they use motor oil or some other ok stuff. This works all of the time. It's custom made from a USA company that makes custom lube for the oil field industry. You only need a small amount of lube for it to be very effective. |
