Well as the title states I'm having a slight issue with the PMags in a new build. The build is a Daniel Defense upper parts built on a CMT upper receiver and  DD BCG on a CMT lower receiver. When I have a loaded mag(28/30 or 18/20) and the bolt is closed I really have to smack it to make it lock into the magwell. Now if I have the bolt locked open it will seat and charge normaly without having to smack it and feeds flawlessly with no issues. Mags fit right while bolt is open and fall free correctly and really no other issues besides the needed smack to get it in place with the bolt closed. This is the same with both My 30 rounders and 20.

it's not a big deal- when you give it that extra "slap" it is just pushing the rounds/spring down to allow it to catch on the mag release

Judging by your posting history, this is your first experience with an AR-type firearm.

The resistance you're feeling is the top round in the magazine hitting the bottom of the bolt carrier and being compressed (pushed down).

It's normal.

There's a picture floating around of a 20 with a cracked mag slot from whacking it too hard.

right on guys. Yes this is My intro to the AR platform and was just wanting to make sure there was no underlying issue. I would like to see the dude that can simply "smack" a Pmag and smash it! sounds like a tough sob.
