I was shooting with Pmags this weekend... I had two Jams that were magazine related. I had one jam... inspected my mag and there was plastic burs all over the feed lips... as I pushed the top round down... I could see it sometimes snagging on a bur and not rising all the way up... and it explained why my rifle jammed and the bolt left a gouge in the side of the shell... the round had not risen all the way up and had caught on the bur. I put the mag to the side... but used it once more at the end of the day... and sure enough I had another round jam with that mag... I noticed all 12 of my Pmags had slight-to-severe burs all over the Feed lips... I am going to take all 12 apart and take some light sand paper to the feed lips and clean up the Burs... Anyone else ever have this issue with Pmags??? Other then that... the other 3 out of 4 mags I had brought that day shot great... I shot from 9 in the morning till 6 at night... Only two jams were with that same mag... with the rounds catching on the bur. I know they are good mags... but this kinda rubbed me wrong... all that quality in a fine mag... and they don't debur where they made cuts in the plastic??? seems a little careless... Other then that... They are great mags... seat well... feel nice.... strong... and I know they are supposed to be reliable... so they should be good after the deburring process... |

I had similar non-feed issues with mine. I didn't care to look for the cause of the problem. I bought five, had that problem with the first two that I tried, then sold them all. I'll just stick with my trusty aluminum GI mags and Lancers. These also didn't need to be broken in.
Totally incorrect info. |

I tried 2 new P-Mags this weekend. A 20 rounder and a 30. My first expereience with P-Mags. The 20 would not hold the bolt back on the last shot, ever. The 30 would fail to do so every now and then. With both mags, I would get frequent failures to strip the next round, resulting in a single shot rifle. Switched to GI aluminum, all problems went away. MOG |

See I hear mostly good things about P-Mags... I hear more negative things about USGI's then I do Pmags... I am going to be really disappointed if these mags prove to be a let down... Although I still feel they will be fine... Already... They will seat with 30 rds in them on closed bolt... USGI will not... or at least not do so easily. the other Pmags were fine... just this one had a bur on it big enough to cause an issue. and the Function of the Follower in the mags is WAY better then any USGI will ever be... Plus they are indestructable... and the Feed Lips do not wear out on them like a USGI mag. But we'll see if they can prove reliable after I debur them... I am going to bring 1,000 rds out and run them through my rifle in Pmags... I will make note of any issues... |

I bought some 20 round Pmag and C Products to check them out and see what the hype was about. Once I opened the box I started to fondel and look at the 2 brands of mags. I like the P Mags better they have a better look and feel to them. I went to range a week or so ago with them and both brands worked just fine in my AR. Both feed properly and dropped free by themselfs. After loading and shooting them a couple of times, I will probably be using the P Mags more often. Before I went to the range I cleaned the P Mags of any burs or extra flashing. MAHA |
Good info. Thank you |
