I need a sling for my New DPMS 20" Bull Upper with Magpul PRS rear stock. I would appreciate any advice on a sling, but I really do not want to spend more than $20, and $10 would be a whole lot more economical. However, if there is a practical reason for spending more I might consider it. I noticed the person I was buying my scope from also was selling a Butler Creek Comfort Strech Sling like this one, it looks comfortable, but I have no idea if there is something better out there. I like my slings to be comfortable on my shoulder, I like them to be able to wrap around my arm for stable shooting, and I like them to be easily adjustable so I can take the slack out of it so its tight for storage. There is something messy about a sling that just dangles around like some of the hunting slings I have that have hooks and notches. Any advice appreciated. Thanks |

You need to know what you plan to do with the rifle MOST of the time. Comp shooting- you need a good sling that you can use in the prone firing position. CQB- need a sling that does not get in the way yet offers weapon retention and is simple. General plinking- a standard GI black web will do fine. What are you going to be doing |

Combination between Comp Shooting, Varmint, and Plinking. Do not see much need in such a large heavy gun for CQC. I have a simple black GI type nylon sling on my 16" carbine that I havn't had any complaints about. Unless I can find something thats a better replacement I will probably just buy another one. Althought something similiar with padding would be nice, in case I take it on any long treks through the woods. |
