I purchased some of this product based on the recommendations of some members here. I haven't used it yet but I have a question. One of the products I have, Carbon Killer, is advertised as non-toxic, non-flammable, etc. Why, then, in the instructions, does it say to be sure to wear gloves and safety glasses when working with it? I was trying to get away from the pertroleum-based cleaners I have been using and thought this was safer. I never used gloves for Hoppe's #9. |

The stuff is a chemical degreaser/solvent. There is natural grease/oil in your hands...this will remove it, which is not good for your skin...and you don't want any kind of chemicals in your eye. That statement is put there by lawyers as a CYA. It is way safer than petroleum products are. It is non-toxic only to a point. You don't want to drink the stuff, either. |
Exactly! I use the stuff and it is truly great and does what it says! when I have been lazy I don't use gloves andI never have a problem greater then dry skin. |
