When my crates of 5.45x39 come in I'll post some. I'm so excited. I have never bought this much ammo at once. 4k rounds. And I don't even have a gun that shoots it. Yet.

Ill be taking some pics hopefully soon. Ive got a line on a shit ton of ammo at a recockulous price. Hopefully it will go down with in the next month or two. Put it this way, when I haul away the ammo the pickup will be too small. Im going to have to use the deuce and a half to haul it all.

Ever get a MK19 can to see how many linked rounds can fit in there? 150 loose in a normal 50BMG can and 312 rounds in a MK19 can loose. Could probably get 200-250 in a MK19 can.

I just took a count. I've never had more than 1000 rds in stock in 20 years. I plan on getting 2000 rds of each caliber boxed up in cans [just did it to my 9mm supply this morning] and never touching them. Currently: 8,000 rds 9mm 600 rds .38 300 rds .357 3,000 rds .40 2500 rds .45 5,000 rds .223. Not having my wife finding the new credt card and two withdrawla from Fideleity [I hope] PRICELESS! Seriously, who else is buying ammo and ardently working at hiding it from their spouse? I'm new to an AR having bought the new Bushmaster gas piston. Borrowing a line from the Honeymooners [can anyone tell me the episode?]..."shoot slow...that way you don't lose the ammo so fast". Walsh BTW, as someone who used to follow all sorts of economic numbers, we REALLY aren't saving and not making all the illegals legal is probably going to hurt most housing by withdrawing some demand. We've been consuming and borrowing. I'm going to be surprised if we don't have a slowdown. Why, because I heard those 4 words recently that are a death knell..."IT'S DIFFERENT THIS TIME" Still, I'll be happy to see ammo drop $100 per 1000 rds of .223. I don't like how the government might be thinking of "ammo control" as Moynihan thought of. I will get into reloading and will save all my brass from this point forward. |
I reckon that I am still too paranoid to post ammo stash pics on the net. I will say that I have lost an 5.56 can of WCC 04 M855 in strippers, sleeves, and bandos that I cannot find. I have looked everywhere for that can. I labeled it M855/B 840. If you have seen such a can. Please PM me. I am worried.

Nope, ain't got the rifle yet. But I do have three unopened crates of 5.45 sitting in my garage corner. If I remember I'll take some pics of it tonight. I also reorganized my ammo in my cans last weekend and they are stacked up nicely in my closet. I'll take a pic of that too.

TFL just announced that they will be posting shipping rates for the group ammo buy. I have 5K of match and standard .308 coming. Fairly painful expense. Three cases are match ammo and all ammo is brand new. I expect to pay $2500+ with shipping. Edit: Bill came in for $2609 plus $102 shipping. That's gonna hurt. I would like a $200/K source for .223! I already had orders in when the group buy was announced. I wish I would have ordered sooner, but my prices were still substantially better than those in the group buy. I guess you could say I put together my own mini-group buy. I would be interested in seeing how many rounds of each loading were ordered. It sounds like the guy running the group buy expects to continue the relationship w/ HSM and run additional group buys in the future. Hopefully people will post up their impressions so we can keep tabs on QC. |
That's the thing, prices keep rising on components. They already have threatened higher than quoted prices for late group buy orders. I was just emailed that orders will start shipping at the end of the month. I also have QC concerns. We will see.. |

I've been whoring around long enough I suppose....I'll bite. Here is roughly 15k rounds 5.56mm(2/3 of my stash) of the "good stuff." M855, Guat M193, SA M193, Q3131, MK262 Mod1. The other 1/3 is in a safe place.  ETA: There is a bit of M882 in there as well. Rifle is a Colt 6920 set up identical to what I carried in Iraq. -TA31F -KAC RAS -GG&G A2 BUIS -Single pt left hand sling -SureFire w/ARMS throw lever |

Yup...it's epoxy with sprinkles. The wife made put the sprinkles on the floor as well...so I had to partially hand in my man card. My builder wanted $900 to do my garage...I did it for $85ish from Home Depot. My savings went to more South African ammo! Maj |
