I want a soft case like what Blackhawk makes for my (soon to be) new AR. It is a 20" rifle. I would also like to find something similar for my 18" 870 shotgun. I really like the Blackhawk stuff, but if I am going to spend 60 or more dollars on a case, it will be aluminum, which I already have. Does anyone make an affordable tactical style case for rifles and shotguns? |

LOL! I figured you were around here too! Wolfgang over on GT showed me these. Great prices, I am gonna order a couple. My FFL letter hasn't even made it to Steve yet. :( Yeah, I sent the copy of the FFL by priority so I wouldn't have to wait. Sometimes the mail is a bitch. I've been tracking my AR every step of the way, LOL. The lower will be at my FFL tomorrow. I cancelled my order for my M4 upper since they were out of stock for who knows how long. I reordered the CAR A4 upper and it left by second day air today, be here thursday...can't wait [:)] |

Does anyone make an affordable tactical style case for rifles and shotguns? I really like my Blackhawk case, but you said they were too expensive...I have one of these too (Galati Int.) It's okay, made of PVC, not ballistic nylon. Very well padded though. http://www.galatiinternational.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=GIO&Category_Code=galaticases |

Quoted: So I guess you got the CAR length handguards? I like it better than the M4 profile myself. I ordered a Labelle NIW 30rnd mag from a guy on this forum. I should get it this week. Lol, I am going to have everything but the upper this week or next. Yeah, it has the CAR length handgaurd. I'm not 100% positive, but I think it's the same length as the M4, but a smaller diameter. It has a normal style barrel which I like better than the M4 style. It isn't chrome lined(which is the only reason I originally got the M4), but I can live without that. Plus, it was about $70 cheaper, a real plus for me since I'm broke as hell. |

Quoted: I have the sportsman's guide soft case for my varminter. I really like it. The mag pockets are a little crude, but everything is pretty heavy duty and the inside is very nice. Dang good price. I posted links above to 3 different cases from sportsman guide. Which one do you have? I can't decide which one to get. |

mindonmatter, checkout those Allen cases I limked to. Super cheap and Bob Allen makes some good stuff. I have a friend who duck hunts and he swears by them. I have heard that the only real plus to the chrome lined barrel is for if you leave it dirty a lot or for a long time. I also hear it takes away from accuracy a little. If I were getting a 16" upper, I would have gotten the CAR upper. |

This one http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=104508 at sportsman guide looks like it has 4-5 wide pouches. Are my eyes just deceiving me? |

As for the question on pockets of the Sportsman's guide case. 30 rounders fit fine. Nice and snug. 40 rounders - no. Like I said, I liked the price, and I'd rather buy a case that is going to protect my stuff, but I won't feel bad about when it gets abused wherever it might go. Isn't that the point of a case anyway?? The material is heavy duty as are the zippers. The pockets are cheap but they work. The inside is nice material. Very soft and pliable. Gudnraw |

Gudnraw I am gonna have to strongly agree with this. I have two of these cases. For $22, I dont have to worry about ruining them but they easily do the job. I have another one thats around $50 and i would rather have spent the difference on something else more worthwhile. |
