There is an indoor range I want to shoot my AR15 at , but they won't allow FMJ , only soft point, Hollow point, or Ballistic tips.
Who has used soft point in their AR15? Does it mess up the feed ramps? Does it feed properly?

Remington green box PSP (pointed soft point) has a jacket that covers all the sides of the bullet leaving only the flat piont with exposed lead. Winchester and others leave a bit of exposed led at the tip that can shear off and leave bits of led around the feed ramps and locking lugs.

my primary range ammo is ultramax 55gr SP and have never had any issues with it period. Accuracy is decent out to 100yds in my RRA.

it's perfectly fine. worst come to worst you get a smashed bullet nose because the lead is soft

I have used both Hornady and Remington psp in my AR-15 and they have had not one problem. as for accuracy I do not know as I just used them for plinking but they can hit a pigeon on the ground 200 yards out with no problem at least 5 times so accuracy must not be bad.. next week I'm getting some more from midsouth so if I remember i'll do a grouping and post the results on this thread
