I am builkding my first rifle so I am unfamiliar with issues pertaining to weight and balance of the weapon.  I have decided to go with an A2 style stock because I'll mostly be target shooting and the laws of my state forbid collapsible stocks.  That said, I am trying to decide which type of A2 stock to purchase.  My rifle build is a 16" M4 carbine.

I am trying to figure out strictly from a weight/balance standpoint if I should purchase a solid or a skeleton style stock.  Aesthetics aside which is more practical for my type of build?

practical..... A2.......

You can get a colapsible stock pinned.

ace style stock would be the best of both

2 of my 3 builds have A2 stocks.  I find them more practical and I'm not into AR's for the look.

The skeletonized A2 is going to save all of an ounce or two.  I'd stick with the standard A2, it will balance better.
