Been thinking about doing this for awhile and finally got around to it....thought i would share it and see what  everybody thought.Started with a LMT GEN 2 STOCK then ground off the checkering on the back.Got a 1/2 in Pacmyer recoil pad and glued it to the stock using GORILLA glue. After it set up for 4 hours i used my belt sander to take off the over hang. Before i had installed the recoil pad i had also cut about 1/2 in off the bottom of the stock.Filled in the sling swivel hole with ACRAGLASS with black dye and let it set upover night. Then i sanded everything to try to get everything uniform. Then i bead blasted the intire stock to make it all look uniform.Alot of work but it feels great.........The reason i did this is because i just never liked the way the slip on pads felt or looked.

Nice job.........will Gorilla glue be enough?......is "glue" enough of an attachment?

I was told that GORILLA GLUE is what McMillian uses on their stocks,so im hoping its enough.

My other hobby is rock crawling and I could not mount my Ford Motorsports tach except to the dash. Well the screws would just pull out of the dashpad so I tried Gorrila glue.... That is some serious stuff!! It has held for a year and 2 roll overs.  To keep this AR related, this is my rig I use to dissappear deep into the woods when we want to go through several hundred rounds without attention...

I have known zander829 for years and he does excellent work.

I was considering one of the newer slip on pads off the EE when he told me about this project. I have always hated the way the factory stocks slide around on your web gear and flak vest/IBA. Something about polymer against nylon seems to render the factory applied checkering useless. I think this will provide a better grip and is a cleaner looking alternative compared to ANY slip on pad. I especially like the way he used acra-glass to fill in the mounting holes for the otherwise useless swivel that everyone removes.

Great job,

Wpns Man
