Is there a spacer or something that I could buy to give me a gap that allows me to use my scope and irons? I have a flat top rail but my scope is on a fixed base with no way to see through it.

Are you talking about cowitnessing?

I have no idea what that is. But on my .22 I have these spacer like things that set my scope about a 1/2 inch higher and allows me to look right under it.

What kind of optic do you have?  Who made the mount?  Most guys using the AR platform wont use their irons unless their optic has failed...at that point they usually have a QD so they can just remove it and use irons.

That is my optic. I have it sighted in at 50 yards but always like using irons just in case.

Wow your thread got moved pretty quick.  Anyways, do you have flip up BUIS?  If so the best thing to do would be cowitness them to the optic.  Then if you wanted to use them you just flip them up and use them while the optic is still on.  The optic would act like a sort of ghost ring.  Thats all I can really think of in your situation.

Since you have a complete PoS optic to start with, you wouldn't really be f'ing things up much worse by mounting it high enough to see your irons underneath it via some bizarre see-through mount.

You'd probably be better of 86'ing the paperweight, and sticking with the irons as a primary sighting device.

The scope you have is magnified so you will not be able to co-witness.  Co-witness is where you are able to see the Iron Sights through the optic.  The scope you listed is 4 power and you won't be able to see the front sight.

Any riser that raises the scope high enough to allow you to look through the sights on an AR15 would put the scope to high.  can you post pictues of your setup?
