Much faster to swap a whole BCG at the range than mess around changing rings., etc. When I was buying parts, I would shop at CDNN when they had sales. |

White Oak Armament sells a build your own lower parts kit where you just select the pieces and quantity you want. They also have parts and kits (e.g., forward assist, ejection port door) for the upper receiver and individual parts for the BCG. All their parts are top notch (Schmid Tool, Geissele, etc.) and they have very high quality barrels if you need one. |

I emailed asking about it and they ignored me, big surprise. So I'm calling bullshit. |

The last order I received from Damage Industries a few years back had the worst quality charging handles and trigger guards I've ever seen. Also, most of their small steel parts are black oxide finished and not the proper phosphate finish. |

On the gas rings, I have never nailed down a particular manufacture. In my experience they all seem to last about the same. Have bought from different manufactures and when checking them they are all the same dimensions. I have worn out more gas rings than any other part. A couple of gas tubes worn but working. Roll pins, Cam pins and cotter pins. Have broken one , 158C bolt in the weak spot where cam pin goes. Have the original Bolt carrier from my first XM-177. Lots of barrels, with SS being the worst on full auto. Have my original colt trigger withs some SS Anti walk pins/"C" clips holding them in (no wear I can see). Way back when I was younger and tried to melt my barrels I never had any problems with mine. It uses all mags, shoots and cycles all ammo. It's just been an outstanding weapon. I have changed the uppers several times. Could not get the original 11.5 barrel off the upper. SS barrel throat wet so I up graded to the flat top and some really good Chrome lined barrels FN hammer forged out of some 41V45 steel. They are awesome barrels, made a run for someone of 20,000 total and now they are all gone. Holding up really well and have several on some AR's I built. Verry accurate for me ( I know chrome lined aren't suppose to group). These barrels are suppose to be like the SAW barrels with double chrome inside. For parts, Gas rings, couple of cam pins and bolts, firing pins, couple of complete BCG's that will work in your rifle and a complete upper with barrel and I guess you could have an extra barrel or two. All this with a tool kit to change it all out. Forgot to mention, large quantities of ammunition and magazines! They don't wear out or brake many parts. |
