What do folks recommend for a spare parts kit to keep an AR running? Trying to prep a bit in case the manufacturers go out of business.  My AR is a Bushmaster M4gery with a carbine length gas system.  Thanks for your thoughts and opinions.

Google is your friend.

Took me all of 15 sec to find multiple pages on the subject. I don't post links to outside forums so here is one for AR15. But just Google  " AR15, Which parts break most often" .  We use to have a thread that was on this same subject but geared towards  3 gun competitors, but I can't seem to locate it. As I said Google is your friend, no need to waste server space with repeats.

So to recap, you are clueless and recommend I use Google instead of a forum of folks who actually own and use AR15s to seek opinions based on actual experience?

First let me apolgizefor not posting the link, it is fixed now.

Now back to the OP,

No Sir, you are the one who is obviously clueless and to lazy to spend 15 sec and type your question out in order to find a answer to a question that get's asked multiple times each week in forums all over the internet. Sure there are tons of people on this forum that have the knowledge to answer your question. But why should we answer the same exact questions, over and over and over again. How many websites do you own? Have any idea what it costs to host a site such as this?  Why waste server space, which equals someone's cold hard earned cash, when the answer has been given multiple times already. Try looking at the top of each section on the forum. They have done a great job of grouping the most common questions that get asked habitually on this forum. They went through all this trouble, but you think you stil deserve special attention for your unique question.
I tried to be nice and honest with my first reply, you are the one that continues to waste more server space with your rants. Did you even try Google? I even gave you the phrase to copy and paste so you won't get a blister. If you did, you would have seen that I was spot on with my advice. But that's not you, is it  So I am in a good mood, here you go Sir, just beause you are so important to all of us here.

Spare Parts List to have on hand for the AR15:
Bolt
Extractor,ejector,spring and O ring
Gas Rings
Better yet a complete spare BCG is even better
Complete LPK is a great idea and cheap
Spare BUIS
Spare batteries for optics and or flashlights
Better yet just get a spare rifle!!!

There you go Princess, I hope this helps you out. Anything else I can do for ya, just ask, or better yet, here is a link.

NCHornet, this forum would be pretty boring if everyone used google.

From now on, if your reply isn't helpful to the OP, don't hit submit.

Over the years there is not much on these weapons I have not seen wear out too soon, break, get lost, or broken in an accident.
How proactive a person is about PM would also play a role.
In my view the all-inclusive answer is a spare weapon plus numerous parts.
A spare BCG is a good starting point as it includes the most commonly needed items.
I would go for a LPK, gas rings, op spring, etc. next.
There is a rake off toward the end of the carbine class thread.
