[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Spikes 22lr upper

New guy here. Thanks to all the recommendations and the support I've seen coming from Badazzar15, I ordered a Spikes dedicated upper in mid December. Question, can I expect this upper to reliably run with the Federal VP ammo? I'm going to start shooting a local tactical 22 rifle match when I get it in and you only get 2 alibis<sp> per match. I suppose I could shoot the Fed's for practice and CCI's for the match but would prefere not to do that.

i say u need to try a couple of different ammos and see what ur gun actually likes. Found out my spikes hates CCI but my cci does have a bad wax covered problem. i have agulia that will be here weds- hopefully it will run better–– i did not try to mess with the spring on the cci mainly because i could see the wax problem.

My Spikes does not like the CCI's, neither the 36gr or the 40gr. I found it really likes CCI Blazers and the Federal bulk pack ammo (Yeah, its cheap!!!).

Thanks guys. I'll hold off buying any large quantities of ammo until I get it in and can try it out first. Fingers crossed it shoots the Federals.
