I finally finished my Spikes build after receiving the last parts today. I never thought that that a charging handle would have been the big holdup. I decided to keep this one plain and simple without all the bling. The overall weight turned out to be under 6lbs which is a big difference from my other M4's.

Thanks to Angela and Tom for all the assistance.

Spikes Tactical Lower
Spikes Tactical Upper
Spikes Tactical National Match BCG
Spikes Tactical(Troy) BUIS
Spikes Tactical /DD 10" lite rail
CMMG 14.7 M4 barrel with pinned A2
KNS Mod2 Gen2 anti-rotation pins
Mapgul trigger guard

Wow, looks great!

Tell me about the quad rail... what is, and approx how much?  Is it from Spikes also?

How does the Spikes lower and upper compare to RRA stuff?  I am new at this, so be gentle!

The rail is made by Daniels Defense and it is a limited run of their "lite" model. It was purchased through Spikes and if you look at the picture closely you will see where it is labeled "Spikes Tactical" on one side.

I can''t comment on the RRA comparison as I have never owned one of their lowers.

Gorgeous rifle.  Nice choices on the components.  Are you adding an optic or just using the BUIS setup for sighting?

Thanks for all the feedback. As far as the scope and magpul......not going that route for this one.  I decided from the start to keep it clean and simple with out all the usual accessories as I have on my other AR's. No lights, lasers, Acogs, SOPMODS or MIAD's. I am even sticking with 20rd pmags as the weight of everything combined really adds up.

What made you decide to go with a flip up front sight instead of a fixed FSB if you won't be using an optic?

In reality.....looks. I just wanted to build something that was a little different from my other AR's and I like the clean, low profile look of the HK416's.

Looks good man! you'll love the bolt and carrier if you have not already shot with one of them.
