Took delivery of a new Spikes Conversion Unit today and tested it out.  Put a couple of BDM mags through it in my back yard. I used Remington Subsonics. I had one jam but no issues with the rest. Magazine loading will be hard on the fingers.

This rifle started out as a stripped lower that I added to a piece at a time. You know the drill. I picked up the Colt GI barrel at a fun show about a year ago and it is a 1/12.  I took the gas tube out and installed the Spikes plug. I will leave the rifle set up this way.

This is a quality product from the looks of it and will be a lot of fun, quiet as a BB gun as well as economical to shoot. Thanks Spikes.

How long was the wait from Spikes?

I ordered on November 1st within hours of Spikes opening up for orders. I know they had a big demand for these and did the best they could to get them out. I also noticed that they test fired it before they sent it out to make sure it was OK. I think I read that they did that to all of them.

The welding is superb and the nickle plating is also well done. They have parts and rebuild kits for these and they are pleasant to deal with too. Just my 2 cents worth.

For the drop in kit, it's less than a week.  I ordered one last week thursday and got it yesterday tuesday.
