I've had my Spikes Mid Length since Halloween.

To date I've shot around 4k through it, no issues except running out of ammo.

Coming from the AK side of things for the longest time, I wanted to get into a good AR platform, and at the advice of this community I purchased the Spikes. I thank you guys.

It's been painted several times as I look at it as a tool, and personally I think painted AR's look sick, so I said why not.

It's been (factory) black, OD, OD/Dirty Brown, Matte Black, and now camo'd again. This past time I decided on a "worn in" muted camo pattern, to be honest i wanted to copy the look that Hokie has on his A1 carbine, as I dig it.

For the current look I did the following, painted with Matte Black Krylon, then just free handed some OD krylon over it in a stripe-ish way. Then I took some of the light khaki "sand" matte krylon and did some more stripes here and there. I though that looked funny, so I dulled it down by "dusting" these areas with some more OD. I like the result, it works in a urbanish area as well in the Middle TN woods.

The specs of the rifle as it stands now are:
Spikes Mid length LE complete rifle
AAC non mount brake
Magpul MOE handguards, which I played around and stipled the lower part with a wood burning kit. Have a G2 to mount on it when at home.
Magpul MOE VFG
Bushnell TRS-25 + no name riser.
Samson BUIS
Troy Battle Ax Grip
Vltor Modstock (love them, bought some spares for future builds, at $50 why not)
Gear Sector 2pt sling

Since I got up early this morning, I was bored and tweaked on coffee so I figured why not do a review and take some pics.

I am going to pick up a mount n slot sling adapter for the MOE, then start on another build. I'm thinking an A4 clone (won't paint that one)
