Hi All,
Anyone reverse the mount so that the nut is on the right side? Pros/ cons? |
|
Spitfire 1X (older model, not the newer "AR" one)...........the base reverses perfectly...........I needed the nuts on the other side for mounting to my Stag Arms left handed ARs and that was a question I asked also. Might not have been on this forum but someone said it was reversible and I can verify that indeed it is. You just unscrew the two screws, reverse the parts and install the screws again.
I reversed it on my Stags because the left handed models have the ejection port cover that flips UP instead of down and it hits the nut (slightly) which is why I wanted to reverse it. May not have interfered with the ejection but it bugged me so I reversed the mount. I have Spitfire 1X on all my rifles (I only shoot at an indoor 50 yard range) and just LOVE them. |

Thanks. Just got one yesterday.
Finally, a sight I can use with my astig. The lens is smaller, so I may mount it as rear as possible. Overall, the set up is pretty compact. The only thing I wish it had was a AAA battery instead of the 2032... eta- Also, with the reticle in focus, the fs post is blurred out. In order to bring the fs post into focus, I need to crank the ring all the way out. Now the post is crisp and the reticle is gone. The post also looks way magnified. Not a big deal, but if I have to transition to irons, will this be an issue other that just refocussing ? |
