Just picked up my new Leupold Golden Ring 12-40x60mm Spotting Scope. As i began to search on line for a suitable tripod to mount it on, it occured to me that not just any tripod will do. Since i will be doing both the shooting and the spotting myself, all from the prone...

I need a tripod that is capable of positiong the spotting scope low and next to me, while at the same time not hindering my shooting. Does any one have any experience with the Freeland Bipod Scope Stand? https://www.championshooters.com/index-ssl.html

Any other recommendations or set-ups that have worked for you?

Thanks,

I have been using this scope stand for a number of years.   Well worth the money, it's compact and very steady, even in the field. Classic design and great quality.

You can also check at camera stores. They have a great variety of tripods.

Is your scope straight or 45 deg angle?

well, i ended up settling for a cheap table top tripod from the local camera store.  It works fine for now and only cost $12.  I'll have to upgrade to something a little sturdier if it ever goes to the field though.
