Yes, I know they threw us under the bus head first w/o warning. However, I have an opportunity to get a new one in a trade. The build quality seems really good, is this a budget friendly cousin to BCM? The one I'm looking at is their 2017 model with a free float rail.

There are worse.

(It's actually not bad!)

If the deal were right, I'd move on it.

Get a Savage Recon if you want a factory rifle with a freefloat mlok hand guard.   mine shoots sub moa even better than my custom aero build... kinda makes me sad about my aero

Savage Recon. They have phenomial reviews.

If it was made by a different company I wouldn't have an issue getting it but I think there are still better options such as savage or aero

I dont think there is anything wrong with the rifle its self but the principle its self in buying from a company like Springfield

If the deal is right, I would do it.

Since it is a trade, it isn't like you are directly supporting Springfield Armory.  They already got their money for it.

This.

Spec wise it's not a bad weapon.  And it's a trade, so...FO if you fancy it.

What does FOAD mean?? ????

I went into my LGS looking for a 6920 to introduce me into the AR world (recovering AK addict). They didn't have one and wouldn't order me one. It pissed me off but I found a new Colt 6920 OEM-1 at another shop the next day for $789. They had put some really disgusting magpul MOE camo furniture on it. I had black magpul furniture in the mail the next day.

The LGS was pushing that exact model Saint on me. The rifle felt like quality in my hands. Everything was well finished and tight. I was impressed with the flip up iron sights on the rifle. They were steel and felt like quality. The nickel boron trigger felt slick. They wanted $899+tax for the rifle. I had my mind made up on a 6920 however. I'm totally happy that I skipped the Saint and got what I wanted. I'm no AR expert by any means, but the Saint "felt" like a really nice rifle. The free float handguards felt nice. Everything felt like quality. I'm big on a quality feel. It's the difference in feel between a milled and stamped receiver AK. Stamped rifles feel like last ditch weapons. Milled receiver rifles feel like grand dad's 30-06. If you get my analogy.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, I got it today and added a couple of small mods already (had some spare parts lying around). The fit & finish is fantastic & feels rock solid and is light...getting some trigger time this weekend!

Schuster A1 Flash Hider, Geissele S3G Trigger, BCM Mod 3 Charging Handle, PA Micro Red Dot w/Absolute Co witness mount, Magpul MS1 Sling w/M-LOK QD mount, and Ergo M-LOK Rail covers.

Your rifle wont make you alot of "friends " here.

Hope it's solid for you, OP.

In case you don't know op, Springfield sided with the anti gunners that's why we don't like them. Nothing wrong with the gun it's self.  Maybe put a sticker over the logo
