I am looking at putting a new Precision Armament M4-72 Severe-Duty AR Compensator on my Springfield Saint. Precisions site states I need to purchase a set of the Precision Armament Accu-System Muzzle Device Alignment System (Shims) but I'm not sure which system is needed for my Saint.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

I'm not familiar with that product in particular, but any muzzle device shims should work.

That's what I was thinking as well, but it specifically stated not to use a crush washer. I'm a newer AR owner and learning all I can. I greatly appreciate any and all input.

Here is a link to the actual washers...Accu-Washers

No expert here.

Their site specifically cautions NO CRUSH WASHER.
I would use their shims, personally. Although I would also tend to agree that any shims from a reputable vendor should work.

I'm going to just hold off on ordering until I can contact them tomorrow to see which size I need for my rifle.

Gemtech washers are much cheaper and they are for use with muzzle devices that are meant to mount suppressors on, I can't imagine they wouldn't work for this application.

I'm no expert though.

Maybe look at a different brake? Anyone that stands near you will hate that thing, something like the Dead Air brake has less concussion and you can mount a suppressor later if you so choose.

Those washers are only sold in 2 sizes. 1/2-28(these are what you need, 1/2" inside diameter of washers) and 5/8-24(these are for 308, 300 BO, etc)

1/2"-28 for your Saint (5.56).

There are enough for ~9 muzzle devices in the pack.

And +1 on the brake choice, it will make you zero new friends at the firing line.

As stated above 1/2" set is the one you want. Curious at the brake choice for a short rifle like that though. I have one on a 20" and it's still loud as fuck! Blows a lot of shit back at you as well but it works great at reducing recoil. My personal choice on my carbine is the dynacomp, the wife prefers the vg6 gamma but I find it obnoxious. To each their own I guess but be forewarned that fucker is going to be brutal on a 16" bbl.

PWS peel washer set is what you really want.

Hurry up though----Brownells free shipping code ends midnight central time.

1/2 - 28 is what you need... All they do is make it so the brake will "time" properly. ( orient the gas ports properly )

I have used them numerous times... I do feel that you don't want excessive "tightness" ( from the brake ) messing with the muzzle end of a barrel.

Would a peel washer do the same thing ? ... yes.
