Can someone elaborate on the time frames for Square Forge Recievers. They have a early and late Square Forge where the ejection port lines up with the lower and one that doesnt.

The square forge without the ledge matching is a "transisition" model. I have one..

So the transitional models would have been from late 65 to early 66?

Don't think the dating is carved in stone but very approximate.  Heck I haven't seen too many of anything square forge in the last couple years except SP-1.  With XM16E1 being the highest demand M-16 is does make sense that not too many of the earliest receivers were left on the shelves.  604 was a little different as they didn't sell like the XM's after initial purchases and there was the civillian market for the leftovers.

Hence the "ish" suffix after the top 2.
