I promise I would and everything but unfortunately they only have one. Which will soon be finding a new home in my garage as a spare.

Someone here on arcom posted that they SPOKE to Young about their lack of staking and was told they loctite their keys and that staking will void the warranty (I guess it has something to do with compromising the chrome finish). Obviously it's "hear/say" information on my part. I'll attempt to look for the thread and reference it here. |

If you are referring to my comments in another thread, you need to read a little more carefully (bolded for you), if not my comments you are referring to, then my apologies............................... For what it is worth-in an email sent to me after a purchase; Regarding Young BCG's only...................... "FYI, I talked with Dan Young of Young Mfg at length about this. He highly recommends that the gas key NOT BE STAKED, and staking them VOIDS THE WARRANTY. He runs his carriers in full auto rifles and never has any problems with them. He has also been doing this for 29 years and should know what he's talking about." |

Should an issue arise I guess it becomes their problem. I was given the option of staking but was also informed of Young's position on staking his products. I chose not to stake. |

Well you're lucky then or Stag has changed their procedure, because every stag I've ever seen including my own was staked with what appears to be a single hit from a flat head screwdriver and hammer straight down on top the key screw. It has never failed me yet but does not accomplish what the staking process is done for. |

The top stake works. Don't confuse internet reality with reality. If the top stake didn't work, the company with the LIFETIME GUARANTEE wouldn't use them. Much adoo about nothing. 
The top stake is not the right way to do it, and it is not just internet lore that makes it that way. When you think about the point of staking is it only makes sense that the way Stag/CMT does it, is not the best way and I can't see what it really accomplishes at all. I am a Stag fan, but I don't know why out of all the companies that stake their carriers Stag is the only one that does it that way. |

I thought the top stake was a good one but after reading and looking at pictures my bolts look the same as the other Stags. 3000 rnds and no problem yet. |
