First of all I want to say thanks to all of you for the great information I have received in the short time I have belonged to this forum.
About six weeks ago I purchased a Stag Arms model 2T . I haven't gone to the range yet ,since I had foot surgery just before I bought my rifle. Here in maybe lies the problem. I have taken my rifle apart and cleaned and lubed it. I am going to the range on Monday so I thought today would be a good time to get the gunk out of the barrel. The lugs that are right in front of the barrel (I beleive they are called the "Locking Lugs") have what appears to be grease stains. I know they use grease in certain parts of the rifle for shipping. I have tried to clean in off with gun scrubber, Hoppes #9, chamber brush, and Q tips but the stain is still there. Should I be concerned about shooting this gun with this stain on the locking lugs or would the stain just burn off with use? Thanks a lot guys of helping a novice. |
