| Trying to decide which way to go for my current project. I want a pretty fairly accurate rifle. I am considering competition shooting with this one, but mostly it will be for the range. I read somewhere there are two different sizes of chrome barrels? What's that about. Any and all info and opinions welcome. |

You need to be more specific with what you want to do with this upper. I recommend chrome-lined rifles for any and all general-purpose rifles, but if you are planning to build a precision/target/varmint rifle, that will be fed either commercial .223 or handloaded ammo exclusively, then you'd be better of with an upper built from a match barrel blank, probably stainless. If you're planning to shoot surplus mil-spec ammo through the rifle, though, stick with chrome-lined barrels with 5.56 chamber dimensions. -Troy |
