I am still in the planning stages for my build as I have yet to find a dealer in Southern Maryland to purchase a stripped lower receiver, however, I think I may be on to one about 45 miles from me.

Any way, I am thinking about using a skeletonized Timney trigger set at 3 lbs. My question for the forum is, if I buy this trigger, what parts in a lower receiver parts kit would I not need to buy? I really don't want to purchase a bunch of kits that I just don't use the parts, so I plan on piece milling the components as I also plan on using an ambidextrous safety selector switch.

Thanks in advance.

for the timney you wont need the hammer, hammer spring, trigger, trigger spring, disconnector and disconnector spring. More commonly known as the fire control group, FCG, Palmetto state armory sales a lower parts kit without the FCG. http://palmettostatearmory.com/1657.php

You could buy an armalite lower parts kit minus the fire control group.....thats what I did on the last build

I looked at the Armalite Lower Kits and notice there are two without the trigger assembly. One has the Pistol Grip, one doesn't. The one that doesn't says CMP only.  I am a total noob here, what is CMP? Since I am planning on using a Magpul grip, can I go with the CMP only kit?

Just get it and replace the grip - You'll have a stash of them after a while.  It also helps to post the link...Pictures are better than words...Especially for us slow southern types.  I am a HUGE fan of Palmetto State Armory in Columbia SC.  Check them out too.

I'm confused.  It that Citadel Grad 1990?
