I'm going to make an M4A3 clone. I wish to make this as close to a US Army M4A3 as possible. I have a RRA lower and RRA flattop A4 upper. I'm looking into getting the barrel from CMMG if they can make a 14.5in barrel with A2 like suppressor permanently attached to bring me to 16 inches. ( I live in Michigan). Some folks have mentioned "ADCO" barrels, any link to their site? What buttstock do I need, I want a military one. What handguards? Does the military use the rail handguards? That would be cool. I will get a carry handle, but what other sight options can I have and still be "military?" I need a bolt and carrier, charging handle and the innards for the lower (RRA probably). m-4 handguards; KAC rails(h/w i'm not sure if the militray pays for this config--i think that individual GIs choose to put on special rails) aimpoint or ACOG i dont think that an a2 fh would make the total bbl to 16in; you might have to go w/ a phantom (perm attached) butstock: m-4 6 pos you need a colt lower |

VLTOR tube with a LMT Gen-2 stock will get you about as close as possible on the stock too. I think you can get a spacer with the A2 to bring it to 16...either way, whoever you end up having build your upper will be able to answer that for you. CMMG would be a great choice if you don't want to spend the money for the Colt M4 upper. If you want to keep your current upper...Eagle Firearms usually has bushmaster 14.5 1/7 M4 profile barrels that are IMHO the best out there. Scott |
