The safety on my AR15 has a problem with sticking in the fire position. The safety works fine if you just push it to the fire position but if you push it just past the fire position it and it will go just a hair past the fire position, it will stick and you have to tap it with something to get it back to safe. I know the problem and know how to set it, but as soon as someone else shoots it, it is stuck. The rifle is rather new I havn't put more tha fifty rounds through it. Will it fix it's self over time or shoud I tear it down and try to fix it, not really sure how. Anyone else had this problem??????????????? |

All, I had the same problem recently, actually came in to post for help. My selector switch got stuck in the fire position. I had fired the carbine till it was quite dirty when the fun started. I took it home and doused it with a generous amount of CLP then the switch worked again. I let the carbine sit for a few days to loosen up the crud before cleaning. When I pulled the carbine out to clean, the switch was sticking again. I removed the hand grip and checked my spring and detent, all was well. When I put it back together it seems to be working fine, though the selector switch seems a bit further away from the receiever. Any help is appreciated. Thanks R/ Mike VA Beach
