Looks good so far. On one of my builds which took me nine months to complete the longest time it took me was to get my barrel. I decided on a midlength gas system 16" CMV 1/7 barrel and almost went with a group buy here but I'm glad I got out of it because the gas holes was mislocated 0.10" more forward than the correct location, after that I looked around again and have to do a long wait until the barrels were completed. Any plans for the barrel, material, length, contour, gas system, twist, brands? |

Looks great so far. I love the FDE/black look. If you got money to blow, there are some Noveske barrels in stock to finish her off. Thanks, this one will be a 10.5" SBR.....maybe. Then PKF's got what you're looking for. Yeah but $450 just for a barrel makes me a little crazy. And why in the hell does Noveske pin the gas block without putting a barrel nut on first? Makes no sense at all. |

Yeah, that doesn't seem right to have the gas block already installed, but nothing a little punch and mallet wouldn't take care of.
At least they did the drilling for the pin. I would rather have it pinned to alleviate any error in the gas block being tilted. I haven't drank the Noveske barrel Kool-Aid yet. They're too rich for my blood. I will someday. But for one of the highest quality barrels with a matching MP tested bolt, gas block, and gas tube included, I don't think it's a bad price. Hell, I just paid $255 for a 7.5" WOA barrel with nothing included.

That's true that the bolt and gas parts help out, but I've already bought all those so they would be in the spare parts bin if I went with the Noveske.
I'm also not completely up to speed on exactly what their match chamber is. Is it like a Wylde chamber or something in between? |
