Yes, we have been listening to our customers.

I don't have any pricing or firm availability date, but at least a month for finished parts.

Material is 6061 T6, anodizing will be Victor's "XM" gray.

Mike, You'ra worse than any crack dealer around.

Nice work!
You listen to your customers?
Hmm, I'll have to start a list of things I'd like to see...[evil grin]

How about A1 FA uppers? I don't want a C7 upper.

Waffle mags?

I also wish someone would produce green A1 furniture!

How about  a 607 Hardware (all the  Metal parts) Stock Kit.  To be used with user supplied A1 stock.

Thanks NDS for the great parts and renewed fervor for retros.

Thanks for all the positive comments.

We are looking at many of the retro items you have mentioned, but we can only do so much at one time.

I don't think we would do the 607 stock due to problem of matching them with the right contour (width) of surplus buttstocks. It would work better with a new-made plastic component.

Big$$$$ there.

Good to know...I was afraid you might dorp the pricing on that item right out of the bottom of the market!

Are you going to be putting your logo (discreetly & out of sight) on them, so people will be able to know the difference between yours & an original? You know to keep someone from selling one of yours for the price of an original.

Looks great BTW

ETA: on the bottom of the charging handle head (like in your last picture) would be a good place for your logo.

Okay, so if you wanted to be reeeeally evil, I mean pinky-in-the-mouth evil-- some of the earliest Armalite rifles had the latch dimple in the upper on both sides, and a latch on each side of the wedge-headed charging handle. . . .

Hey, I'm just sayin' . . . .

I've been giving that some thought. Maybe a single letter "N" stamped on the bottom.

Also note; our latch has 6 grooves cut in it, the original we copied has 4. Another way to tell that it's a reproduction.

A lot of people, including myself, would not know that about an original. It wouldn't take too much to replace the latch.

Just saying, a well defined mark would be a good way to stop someone from trying rip off another person.

Yeah, I need a couple of them.

Mike, I love that you are making perfect reproductions.....almost. Maybe you could mark it "N8" for Nodak Spud and the year it was produced. It wouldn't be too hard to change the number to correspond with the year. Thirty years from now we might read someone posting here "I just found this old charging handle at the gun show and it's marked "N8". Who can tell me anything about it?"

Will you be making regular style charging handles in XM gray in the future?
Checked both of my 601 charging handles, with the info in this thread, I now know mine are originals.

Just so I can have my name attached to such a histotic thread.

Mike, that is too cool!!

I woudl tend to agree...it woudl be nice if the retro repro parts were discreetly marked as such.

*Cough* Now all we need is repro waffle mags... *cough*

Alright then.

We will mark the letter "N" on the bottom of the CH to foil the unscrupulous that would try to resell them as originals.
4/3/2008 3:55:15 AM EDT
[#40]
I think that a small "N" in the forging code area of a A1 FA upper would be good too... of course that is not what you are talking about...

Harlan,

I (and the other forum members I am sure) really, really apprecaite that you go to the effort to bring out high quality reproduction retro parts, but are also willing to recognize that there is a value to being able to differentiate the repros from the original.

Thank you *so much* for what you have brough to the retro AR crowd!
4/3/2008 9:26:02 AM EDT
[#44]
Sweet, cannot wait for them to become available, and thanks for your latest contribution in supporting us retro junkies! And as others have stated/asked, when are you going to bring us a true F/A A1 upper receiver?
4/3/2008 11:36:39 AM EDT
[#45]
Aw geez, get home from work only to find this. More of my hard earned giddish going to Minnesota.

Use the same stamping dies you use on the Blemish lowers. It's very unobtrusive.

Those two E1's I just picked up were astounding. I can't figure out why you Blemmed (is that a word?) them.
4/14/2008 7:44:05 PM EDT
[#46]
So I was finally able to figure out all the costs on the 601 triangular charging handles.

We will be selling them for $60 +$5 for shipping.

If purchased and shipped at the same time with any of our receivers, we'll throw it in the box for no additional shipping charge.

I think we will have finished parts in about 2-3 weeks.
