Thanks for all the positive comments. We are looking at many of the retro items you have mentioned, but we can only do so much at one time. I don't think we would do the 607 stock due to problem of matching them with the right contour (width) of surplus buttstocks. It would work better with a new-made plastic component. Big$$$$ there. |
Good to know...I was afraid you might dorp the pricing on that item right out of the bottom of the market! |
|
Are you going to be putting your logo (discreetly & out of sight) on them, so people will be able to know the difference between yours & an original? You know to keep someone from selling one of yours for the price of an original. Looks great BTW ETA: on the bottom of the charging handle head (like in your last picture) would be a good place for your logo. |
I've been giving that some thought. Maybe a single letter "N" stamped on the bottom. Also note; our latch has 6 grooves cut in it, the original we copied has 4. Another way to tell that it's a reproduction. |
A lot of people, including myself, would not know that about an original. It wouldn't take too much to replace the latch. Just saying, a well defined mark would be a good way to stop someone from trying rip off another person. |
(giggle) did you see our not-so-retro, but A1 sight equipped NDS-22 receivers? |
|
Mike, I love that you are making perfect reproductions.....almost. Maybe you could mark it "N8" for Nodak Spud and the year it was produced. It wouldn't be too hard to change the number to correspond with the year. Thirty years from now we might read someone posting here "I just found this old charging handle at the gun show and it's marked "N8". Who can tell me anything about it?" Doc |
Don't worry, I'll be right next to you in the next wheelchair. ![]() Doc |
Yea but that does not haelp me on my 653 build.... |
Harlan, I (and the other forum members I am sure) really, really apprecaite that you go to the effort to bring out high quality reproduction retro parts, but are also willing to recognize that there is a value to being able to differentiate the repros from the original. Thank you *so much* for what you have brough to the retro AR crowd! |

Aw geez, get home from work only to find this. More of my hard earned giddish going to Minnesota. Use the same stamping dies you use on the Blemish lowers. It's very unobtrusive. Those two E1's I just picked up were astounding. I can't figure out why you Blemmed (is that a word?) them. |
|
So I was finally able to figure out all the costs on the 601 triangular charging handles. We will be selling them for $60 +$5 for shipping. If purchased and shipped at the same time with any of our receivers, we'll throw it in the box for no additional shipping charge. I think we will have finished parts in about 2-3 weeks. |
